Use latex glove to remove and place bulbs. Why latex glove? So you don't get oil from your fingers/hands onto the surface of the bulbs. Removing the bulb is like unpluging a two tong plug from the wall(look at pictures to see what I mean):

New $0.50 Ebay Hyper White H7 plugged in. Reverse the procedure. Start up the car. Take off your emergeny brakes(if you have it on, the day running lights won't come on) and Voila! No more OEM cheap yellowish light!

Welp, today was warm enough that I could bring my car out to an underground garage to see any difference on the new Day Running Lights. I'm afraid there is no difference. Like someone said in a private email that he believes the wattage to the H7 is so weak, that it would not be able to make the 'hyper white" colour as advertised. At least the write up can show people how to change bulbs

I'm at a loss to how to get rid of the cheap and ugly yellowish colour other then going all blue which I definately do not what to do.

The one I put in is rated at 4500K, it is going from 12v100w => 170w
I looked at the PIAA Xtreme White Plus and it is rated 4000K, it is going from 12v55w => 110w
http://www.shopatron.com/product/pro...PIA17655/353.0

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

That's a great write up! One of the best that I've seen in a while! I'm planning on installing some HID's, I'll defiantely have to use this as a reference!

Thanks

Careful...

Stay away from coated bulbs -- they are not recommended for that application and will damage the headlamp assembly. Almost all coated bulbs will burnoff a portion of their cheap coating when heated (illuminated) and the smoke will adhere to the inside of the clear lens. Once coated, the entire lamp must be disassembled and completely repolished.

Not to mention, anything above factory wattage MUST have upgraded wiring harness (relay harness) to supply the additional load.

So what bulb do you suggest to get rid of the cheap yellowish shine of the H7 Day running light? I just need to get rid of that hideous yellow shine.

You guys have daytime running lights? My car doesn't!

Oh yeah don't use cheap bulbs with higher wattages than stock.

They can literally melt your wiring harness... Happened to my friend on his Celica.

Canada requires you to have a day running light. It's the lights that automatically goes on when you start your car and drive. Once you turn on the headlights, the Day running lights turn off.

What do you guys think about this product:

All of those blue bulbs are pretty much good for nothing, they are show bulbs and reduce overall light output. If you want to get rid of their color, turn them off and forget about having daytime running lamps.

You cannot make a halogen bulb act like a xenon bulb, they are two different technologies. Therefor, it is recommended to purchase a quality halogen bulb.. not a junky show bulb.

First, I don't think you understand the situation. We Canadians are required to have day running lights on automatically when the car is turned on. When it is night time and we turn on our headlights, the HID is on and the day running light is turned off. So I can't just unplug the day running lights to turn it off since I could be pulled over by a cop.

Second, I am not trying to make the day running light look like a xenon bulb, I just want to get a bulb that is not the colour of the cheap yellow shine of the stock OEM. I don't care rather it is white/blue/purple as long as it is not the cheap yellow.

Third, could you please recomend a a quality halogen bulb. Example: I went out and bought this today:
http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...ar/default.htm

It was $30cdn for ONE bulb and it still looked yellow so I returned it.
