Default NJ people, window tint question for you

I want to get my windows tinted.I know you cant go too dark on the sides. How do you get through inspection? Can anyone recommend a good tint shop in central nj? Thanks for your help.

outlaws method is actually the only way you would be able to get through inspection. Either that or roll your windows down and hope the inspection guy is cool and doesnt roll them up to check. Otherwise any tint at all on the doors adjacent to the driver's or passenger's seat is totally illegal in NJ. No rules for the rear, 3/4 windows, or back doors on a four door though. Just keep in mind with tint if you do get pulled over they are more likely to call for backup and give you a hard time after.Any Z should get 4 years between inspections so it shouldnt be too much of an issue. Just get it inspected then tint.

I discussed this with a couple of LEO friends on another board and they recommended that you do not get very dark tint. Limo tint always makes them very nervous and that normally results in larger tickets.... They also mentioned that they do not ever stop cars for tinting but if you are speeding (which is hard not to do in our cars) it increases the chances of being stopped.

go as dark as you want. to pass inspection go the the shell station on bridge street in new brunswick. ask for stinky. they will pretend they don't know him. then go out to the phone booth in front of it and wait 15 minutes for him to call. when you pick up the phone it will be a carpet cleaning service. tell them you need the deluxe treatment, with the extra special bonus. give them the address of the shell station, and tell them the color of your car is the color of the "carpet." then leave $500 cash on the passenger seat along with your keys and a signed title. walk away. three days later stinky will return your car with a valid inspection sticker. the keys will be in a ziploc baggie in the gas tank with a piece of fishing line tied to the filler door so you can retrieve them.
