Default CF Hood Differences

I was wondering what the reasoning was behind the large price gap between the Seibon cf hoods, which are around $700 on intensepower, and others such as the Power Enterprise, which is about $1200, and the Ings+1, which is about $1700. Do the prices correlate with quality? If so, is it worth getting the Seibon or am I better off shellin' out a little more cash for the others? Thx in advance.

Maybe some have more CF? Or they are completely 100% CF? I think most hood have fiberglass as a base, you can see sometimes underneath.

As far as Seibon goes, they make some nice products, saw one of their hoods and a CF hatch on a Z at Sema, lokked great and fit good. So good that Im going to order a Seibon TS hood shortly. I dont see other hoods getting much nicer than those, so I dont know why they are so much expensive. I would assume how tight the weave is, the quality/amount of clearcoat and just the size of the company have to do with the price difference, among other things.

I believe the INGs is a DRY CF Vacume formed and autoclaved (makes it SUPER strong)

where Siebon (which i have and love) is a wet lay CF. Light, strong... but not as strong as the INGs

Tha main difference is fitment, qualitfy of the CF weave, and if there is a fiberglass underlay the difference among different companies is huge. Seibon handlays their fiberglass which adds a lot of weight when compared to say a cwest or even better a dry carbon product. It is all up to the buyer on what they want...pure looks or looks, weight, and structural integrity. You get what you pay for

Did you see this one?

If so, yeah that was my car. The hood is believe it or not a hood that is crappier than Seibons. The hatch was sold to me by the owner of Seibon for wholesale price since a forum member on motoring knew him from way back and put in a good word for me. If you want a better product a Varis CF hatch is the way to go or even a dry carbon version from japan. However to me, paying 2-3K for a CF hatch that I can very well F up at the track was not worth it so I went for the lexan window to gain the majority of the weight savings.

Fitment was not PERFECT, but it was good for the price I paid and for it being an early production version. The driver side was slightly higher on the rear bumper section. No complaints so far, but if you use lexan take off the hatch shocks, since they are too strong for the hatch at that point

OK thanks for the tip So can you just use 1 hatch shock to hold it up?

What type of subwoofer you plan on using? It should hold up fine unless you are competing in some crazy bass competitions
