Full HID housing plug and play???
Hey guys...its about time I replace the crap-a$$ aftermarket HID setup that the previous owner had put on the Z and which also decided to crap out pretty quickly (I have a base Z). so, as I'm contemplating my options, I'm looking at possibly just picking up a whole housing replacement set out of a wrecked Z. they would of course include the entire housing, lens, projectors, ballasts and bulbs. now, if I get that, should I essentially be able to just unplug the aftermarket HID setup and plug in the new one? thanks.
Coming from installing HID's in my Base, to various retro-fit HID kits on other cars, I don't see why not.
The only snag or obstacle you would have is IF the harness/ connectors from the battery to the OEM ballasts were different. I don't see why they would be.
And even if It was different, it would be as simple as modifying the ends to have the black/ red wires connect. Ten cent job...fairly simple if you're swapping the headlights already.

hey 350zepher, how you doin? you comin back to hawaii soon? did you use the kit jun sells? I figure it should work, given those connectors are the same (as you mentioned). my current housings are a bit fogged (probably from the hole the previous owner made when he drilled into the cap on the back of the headlight housing) so if I can just buy a whole xenon headlight housing w/ the ballasts and bulbs for around $300, then why not? take it easy man

I actually went with Brightstar instead of Jun's. Basically Plug-n-Play. I installed a McCulloh's kit on an S14b a couple days ago. The battery wires were a little too fat to go in the harness from the kit, so it was as simple as grinding it down with a dremel.
Our Z harness seems pretty universal. Shouldn't be a problem mating OEM with OEM on the same line of car.
Good luck and tell us how it goes.
