I know there are tons of vertical door kits out there, it's like everyone and their mom has a kit, but which ones are reputable?
I've heard GT Factory is the way to go, but that there is a "clearance" issue with the Z doors for all the kits...

As for now, it's a daily driver, but it's going to be turned into a full on project/show car... In the mean time, I guess I should search through the sea of threads and find what im looking for, thanks for the help/suggestions.

here's the scoop on doors....The VDI hinges are great. They bolt on (minus some cutting or rolling of the inside of the fender which ALL kits will require), and don't seem to have alot of sagging or misalignment issues when properly installed. They open up about 30 degrees horizontal so you can get in and out of the car without lifting the door if you want. The downside of these is that the door can be lifted prior to the interior door panel clearing the a-pillar, so if people don't know how to open the doors (out first, then up), they will f' up the inside door panels of your car. It's a pain in the *** and it's almost inevitable with both the VDI and LSD kits.
The GT Factory kit is a whole different animal. It requires frame cutting and welding to install and is absolutely not reversible. The doors open about 4 or 5 inches and then they must be lifted vertically. They open true 90 degrees and are very cool looking, but you cannot get into or out of the car without lifting them because the door doesn't open out hardly at all. This kit requires replacing the interior door panel with a fiberglass or carbon fiber door panel with a slimmer vent bulge so that the door panel will clear the a-pillar without the outward swing that the VDI/LSD kits require.
I have the VDI kit and I love the way it looks, fits and closes. The LSD kit is very similar, though I can't speak to its' quality. It will run you anywhere from $1200 to $1800 depending on where you buy, and install will take no less than 8 hours.
The GT factory door kit is something like 1K for the hinges and 4 or 5 hundred for the door panels. Install will be in the thousands unless you find a good deal because that install is a major PITA.
Hope this helps!
there are pictures of my car with the VDI kit at the gallery link in my sig. check it out.

I've installed many of the vertical door kits and they're quality after about a year is bad. Half came back with pumps broken and hinges rusting. GT Factory, I would recommend over the bolt on's. Very strong kit.

The GT Factory doors are as close as you're going to get. Those open outward just barely before going fully vertical.
