Default Factory Bose CD-Changer

I have the Factory Bose in dash 6 CD-Changer. I just got the car and it was playing great in the dealership showroom. Now that I'm home with the car the player skips like crazy, is this somthing with Burnt CDs? Anyone else have this problem, Its happens when im not driving the car as well so its not dumps. The only thing I can think is the cold weather. its been in the low 30s?

Any Ideas?

What year is your car? I just had mine replaced (free of charge) due to no sound coming out of the driver-side speaker when playing CD and CD skipping. The dealer had replace the whole Bose unit for me. I have an 03 by the way.

Same here. The dealer replaced mine in my '03 and so far no skipping and no left side droping out issues any more.

I have a 2004 Touring Roadster and mine was replaced under warranty as well, so far no more skipping when the player is cold. Just took the vehicle in, the service writer confirmed it was skipping and ordered a new (remanufactured) head unit. It's a known problem with the Bose CD changer head unit. If the vehicle is out of warranty, you'll have to live with the issue and just wait until the unit warms up or replace the headunit with an aftermarket one.

I got my 03 touring's bose replaced 3 weeks ago due to skipping and it was putting a grove into disks #3 & #5. My inservice date was may 03, and only 25k miles so still under warranty. Be aware you will probably get a refurb unit. If it is just skipping in cold with no other issues, I would keep it.

I've got an '06 roadster. No problems with the Bose 6CD player and it has been driven mostly in below freezing weather.
