Smile Dash kit

Is there any aftermarket dash kit that would cover up that vast sea of black plastic? Leather perhaps color matched to the interior leather?

try www.wooddash.com. No leather, but I am thinking about getting the carbon fiber. Any opinions on the carbon fiber?

Default Dash Kits

I've checked a few of these sites today and 1) some recommend that professional installers do the work and 2) at least from my perspective you would need to see it installed to determine whether or not it's what you want. I don't see how you could buy something like this without seeing it beforehand.

To me the carbon fiber might suit some people but in my opinion any wood or fake wood just seems totally out of place in a Z. But, everyone has their own preferences.

I agree. Wood has no place here. Aluminum, Carbon Fiber or leather only.

I also agree with you on see it first. There is no returns allowed on the CF for wooddash.com.

However, talking to the reps there and looking at the instructions, it seems pretty easy to install.

I e-mailed Dashkit.com and they sent me a sample of their carbon fiber material, both the dark grey-black and, since I have a Brickyard, a deep red carbon fiber. The standard material is very nice and so is the red, but the red might be a little over the top for me. Try their site, if I'm wrong on the name, do a search for Dashkit.

I would really like to get it, but concerned that it will look cheesy as it is stick on. Anyone ever use that stuff?

Actually if it is a well designed kit it looks very good. Ive used it in a couple of cars and it looked great. And no I'm not 18 i'm 36 so quality and integration means alot. Its almost next to impossible to find replacement panels for this price range of car, the cost becomes way out of line for most people to justify. Just my 2 cents.

I really don't know, but the kit is a stickon and there will be the sides exposed because the console is slightly higher than the rest of the dash. Remember, the sides will be exposed and the aluminum will stand out more than carbon fiber. Why don't you contact Dashkit.com and ask for a sample? They sent me two of the carbon fiber and they appear to be high quality material.

Of course it'll look cheesy. All surfaces in Z are 3D, so you can't cover them nicely with 2D kit

NY Dashes makes an amazing kit for the Z. Its the most extensive and most expensive kit out there. I should get it within a month and I will post pictures when I get it.

Below is a sample of what I was told the dash kit will cover. I supposedly am getting the first dash they are making for the Z. Pics will be up as soon as I get the kit.

http://www.nycdashes.com/
That is the website that you can get the dash kit from. They do not have the kit on their site yet, but they will soon enough. The prices are well worth the amount you get. Once I get the kit and install it, I will post pictures.

I think if you really want to make your interior stand out....I would just change the color of your seats. I think the dash kits would make your interior look cheap. But then again what do I know.
Maybe some velour and dingle *****.....j/k

Exactly! I understand why owners of civics want something to cover they original cheap interior. But why owner of Z would like to put cheap sticker to cover nice original interior? Every little piece of it will scream "Look, I'm stick-on, I'm not real carbonfiber, I'm cheap!!!"

I'm all for it. I started post about replacing dash long time ago. I even photoshopped it in b.aluminum. Check it out. Looks great.

Also it would be nice to move seat switches forward , so I can rest my elbow without frying my batt
