Talking Do-Luck Bodykit / Veilside Hood (pics)

After seven long weeks to repair driver side collision damage (see https://my350z.com/forum/forced-induction/150014-greddy-tt-on-2005-5at-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly.html), install the Do-Luck full bodykit and Veilside Version 3 FRP hood, as well as a full body paint job the car is done.

Here is my review of the kit and hood from my perspective and from comments from the body shop.

Do-Luck Bodykit
Fitment is good out of the box. However, the kit still needs some prep to line up the bumpers and side skirts with factory fenders. The shop prepped the kit so it lined up straight and seams were very tight. This did NOT require much time but still some. The quality of the fiberglass is very good; not wavy and no bubbles. The stock fender liners need some minor work to accomodate the new bumpers.

As you'll see from the pics below, the front bumper and side skirts are low, especially if your car is lowered. My car was lowered about 1.2 - 1.5" and I had to raise it about 1/2 inch. The front bumper now sits about 4" and the front undertray is probably about 3.5 - 3.75" off the ground. Sideskirts about 4" + of clearance. For those with Greddy TT, the front bumper perfectly frames in the FMIC.

Veilside Hood
Fitment is not very good and required alot of work. I'm going to still have some more minor adjustments to get it spot on but the shop did good so far. Prep time was outrageous; about 25 + hours of priming, block sanding, etc. Out of the box, there was a fair amount of waves and bubbles.

The look of the hood IMO is great; very aggressive. I wanted a clean yet aggressive look that flows with the lines of the car and the bodykit. The vents should help with high temps from the turbos.

The shop (Auto Specialty of Longwood, FL) applied 3 coats of factory chrome silver and 3 coats of clear, wet sanded and buffed. They also added some very heavy duty chrome mesh for the hood scoop, the side ducts on the front bumer and some in the rear bumper. They did an outstanding job!

Here's a few pics.....enjoy.....and hope this helps others.

Ron

VERYYYYYYYYYYYYY sweet. Glad that i went with Seibon instead of Velside hood. Same looking but no problem with fitment. Right on the dot.

Love the side, head over heels on the rear, don't like the front bumper. The hood, i'm impartial.

But that side shot looks awsome. You might want to change to a stubby antenna. It would make your car look very sleek.

Free-King hot man. Love it.

Question: What exact mesh is that. That's exactly what I have been looking for, but I can't find a sheet for sale anwhere?
