Damn G352NV. Everytime I see pics of your engine bay, I swear you can literally eat off of it since it so damn clean!

You do not have to cut anything here is a thread on how to do the install with a heat gun.

Wait...so did he heat up the plastic itself or the shock to get it to mold like that? Hmm...I got to try that. Then after you can probably sand it down to be smooth & paint them

Edit: Nevermind, just reread it. He actually heated the plastic piece until it got hot.

yeah i saw that about using a heat gun...but...well....at this point i'd rather not melt my plastic. in fact i'd almost rather cut it nice-n-purty like before i start melting and molding. if my design works, then...well...there's no need for any of this!

well i finished my proto type. i am VERY ahppy with it, but the black plastic is still in the way of the springs, so either some minor cutting or heat gun use is needed to make it 100% fit. i swear i looked at 3 or 4 different ways to mount hood damper and this was the best way. unfortunately those black plastic covers take up so much area they are bound to get in the way.

i'll post a thread about my findings later on with pics and all that jazz. but they work like a champ!

hello,

we have also the problem with the weak rear hood dampers. the effect is so much stronger if you have a rear wing. so we develop at this time stronger rear hood dampers. they are finished in approx. 4 weeks. we have already installed the proto type and i love it. no more need to wear a helmet. you must only lift the rear hood approx. 40cm the rest do the dampers for you.

for the moment, we have in 3 weeks the first delivery of our engine hood damper kit. Easy to install. No needed to remove the plastic covers. Black anodized hardware and stainless steel screws. made in germany. the price is US$ 165. for all my350z members, we can offer a 10% discount = US$ 148,50. just let us know your username after a order. if you are interested in a gb, please let me know and we can make a special offer for the my350z forum.

you may want to check into being a site sponsor before posting items for sale. i see some competition on the horizon! however, i do like your hood brackets....very nice you have some that take advantage of both hood screws!

sorry harvesterUT ... i will ask to become a sponsor.

yes wave put a lot of time to create the perfect kit for this car. we made also new brackets for the rear hood. so all brackets are black and no longer dark green.

as compensation for my post, here is a picture of our car (snow tires, sorry) with miss germany international...

here is another pic of the CTD hood struts Tino emailed me when i enquired about these a week ago

the only cutting necessary will be a small semi circle cut on the plastic base. Very easily done as this part of the plastic base is raised

Tino id definitely suggest you become a sponsor and organise a group buy on these. Ill be in for sure

Also, any possibility of selling these unpainted, in raw silver metal finish?

One more question. I am concerned about the hood shifting when you take the nuts off to put on the L brackets. Is this a problem? Does someone else need to hold the hood in place while I loosen the nuts and put the braket on?

Easier to do it with some help; but it can be done alone.
