with the intercooler, that already take care the heat issue for you. As said before, if money is not an issue, then buy the top secret hood because i don't think it will help you much.

I am cutting the hood, no money needed. A friend of my has a lazer cutter and has offered to put any design I want for the vents (probably cut brushed stainless).
Thinking of cuting 4 holes on each side and getting a:
3 5 0 Z to fill each vent on each side so it reads from the side.

Going to try it on a piece of scrap Aluminum first before I cut my hood.

I know the IC is giving me cold air temps, but at low speed or when I track it, want to get rid of all that excess heat. My car is making 440 hp with the stock radiator.

You see the set up?
the Z has different hood sections than the s2000...
I think you can have a 2 vent set up with the Z rather than the 3 vent set up as seen on the s2000
but it would be unique and awesome

Check under the hood last night, you are right only 2 vents on each side. It will still look great. I think I will have my friend lazer cut a sheet of brushed SS with 1/2" Z's all over it, just like the holes.

I don't know much about the Seibon, explain why they are useless. Seibon states that the hood will touch oem strut bar and this will not cause any problems

Master B...
Seibon and VIS hoods and basically all their carbon products are Fiberglass with carbon outter layer for display purposes...
They weigh close to OEM aluminium and doesnt provide OEM crash test safety level... (OEM aluminium hoods will bend upon impact or something like it)
So why pay 600 dollars for something weighs like stock, and kills you when you crash?
Just for looks?
I suggest buying real hoods like from Veilside or Top Secret
or cut your own ^^

if you do a search for Velside hood, there are quite few problems with it. BTW, you just join for a few months and have 4K+ threads? s.h.i.t man. hehehe

Thanks Grandmaster J. I was looking for a hood that looks good and funtional. I was hoping that the Seibon would since I like the vent design but oh well.

I think you should see my early replies to this thread
I linked him with a nice DYI mod to cut OEM hood and create ventings (very nice and sporty)

the cost for Velside 3 hood and Seibon VT (same as V3) almost the same. Only $250 more. However, there are more problem with V3 compare to Seibon VT. Either way, they are both CF and they will all f-up when you chip them. Bottom line, the main reason for people going for aftermarket hood: "LOOK" I still pick Seibon over V3 hood.

is the simple "Lo.OK" worth 600 dollars + install + hood pin and safety risks?
I think cutting the OEM hood for vents and meshing it will be good performance and safety + you can paint it black if you really want a black hood

once you go for the LOOK, money shouldn't be the question you ask. WHY do you need hood pin when the hood just latch the same way OEM does? WHY do you have to pay for install when they FIT 100% as OEM?

Now, how much will it cost to cut the hood? what is the chance you will f-up the hood(if you do it by yourself?)

Well - I cut my hood yesturday. I will take pic's when I was her. I think it looks great. After driving her last night, I could feel tons of heat come out of the vents. Total cost after - $150, since I used SS instead of Aluminum perferated plate.

jvanquish - thanks

Interested in pics.

When you said I, did you mean you cut it or that you took it to someone?
