Default Vented Hood Question

Looking for a new vented full carbon fiber hood. I really like the look of the Top Secret Hood:

http://store.yahoo.com/ntnsracing/topseho35.html

Yet, I found another that looks exactly like it (VIS Terminator) for about $1000 less:

http://performancenissanparts.com/ca...30d4edac654cbe

Any one know what the difference is. Is Top Secret just charging for their name or is there a big quality difference?

You get the quality from TOp Secret...
Not sure if the Top Secret is dry carbon but VIS is Fiberglass with a single layer of carbon texture ... weight saving is minimal or none...

So basically you are buying a hood that only looks good for about 600-700 dollars...
I'd not buy it if that was my $

Actually not buying for looks, trying to vent my engine bay. With over twice the hp as stock, it gets pretty hot in there.

Contact JSCSpeed and talk to Tim. You should be able to gte a Seibon TS (I think) which is a CF knockoff of the TopSecret hood for roughly $650 shipped.

this could also be an inexpensive option as well, if you didn't want to use mesh.

I think that will be just stupid costs...

Because #1 they probably never done something like it (NOT many requests to have people's hood sawed ...) and they will first give you the look like " "
then they will blah blah blah... then after you get " " they will charge you ridiculous amount of $ to get it done...

Thus i still suggest DYI

just to chime in here...

TS hood - lightweight, functional, clean weave and finish....high quality hood that fits right. (since it's raining cats and dogs right now, i'll also point out that it comes with removable rain guards)

VIS hood - cheap heavy imitation with poor fitment, terrible weave, and a finish that looks like a pond on a rainy day.
