Default hid pattern

i recently opened up my headlights to change out the amber strip to a clear one. Everything went well no fogging or anything but now my HID pattern is not flat and linear like all the pictures people have posted of their beams. to be honest i dont think they ever really were nice and flat. any suggestions on how to fix this. the pattern currently is kind of blotchy and all over the place. I see the hot spots and all but theres a good amount of light over and around that as well. ill try and get pics up later on.

any suggestions.

is it possible to install the hid bulb upside down is there a certain orientation it should have?

thanks

hard to diagnose without pics

but from the sounds of it, you may have melted or at minimum, heat-stressed your headlight housing

Did you happen to touch the bulb with your fingers? Fingerprints on parts such as the bulb or the projector lens believe it or not affect light output.

post a pic of your light pattern against a wall so we can see what you are talking about.

Make sure the bulb is seated properly, thats most likely the problem.
