Lightbulb 2003 350Z "NISMO" shift **** install (long and legit)

This is a real installation experience... ALL DIY!

This is the installation of Ebay Nismo (Cheese-MO because of it didnt come with all the required parts for a 100% hassel free install, well i guess thats because I didnt pay enough money hahaha!)...

Well from the true real NISMO Shift **** instructions is fairly simple...

1. take off the shift gate assembly
2. Hold bottom and twist the top
3. Replace old with new, voila!

Well my Cheese-MO shift **** came with the **** and a plastic inner piece thats separeted and its not threaded... so that became a problem... So instructions for this is a bit longer because I had to overcome that and some factory difficulties built into the 2003 Zed car model!

What is the factory flaw here?

Well, 2003 (first year of production) Nissan put wayyy too much Lock-Tight (so the damn thing dont fall off like it did during Top-Gear's new Porsche 911 review) on the screw/nut assembly of the ****.
So without knowing THAT, it was almost impossible to get the assembly separeted by simply twisting it as noted from Nissan's instruction sheet.

After about 30 minutes of using all kinds of leverage methods to separate the **** and the shifter, here comes the real game.

How to get the correct threading for the aftermarket **** for the shifter?

Well... After a trip to home-depot, NAPA and finally Nissan dealer, I found a Nissan nut that would screw right in to the shifter screw from the dealer ($1.65 for a nut? damn rip off!). Now after a bit of manipulation of the plastic inner piece, sawing a section off to make the nut fit inside the inner piece and some super-glue magic, the NISMO **** finally is finished!

Now I follow Nissan's instructions, and voila!

(Pictures coming very very soon)

I like the custom shift boot. Very "Type R" reminiscent.
