Default sunroof on the Z

i was wondering if anyone has gotten a custom sunroof
installed on their Z. the roof lines look a bit round to put
one in but im sure its been done. im curious to see what
it looks like and how much it cost to be done.

yes, and it looks good too. Will cost you a TT but if that's your thing, ok. Try a search here, there's pics.

my family got the toyota avalon with sunroof.. its been over 7 years and not a single sign of Rust.. weight wise, do you think it'll add that much? im not sure.. maybe u can not use glass?

as for structural integrity.. i dont see that many Z accidents involving the roof.. the ones i do see, the entire car is totalled.. not sure if this will have that big of an impact.

1. Thats because its factory install. These are by aftermarket shops and they all don't have such experience, skills or even care.

2. Structual intergrity has alot more to do than just accidents, however, you're still missing the point. If one does get into an accident, you want the vehicle to be strong whether its a roll over or not. Second, by elimating the structual intergrity you decrease the performance of the car by allowing it to flex during turns, accleration, braking, etc..

you're not serious are you

the centre of the roof is only sheetmetal, barely a few mm thick. Push down on the centre of the roof and see how it flexs. That wont save u in a roll over

'structural integrity' comes from the a-pillar flowing back to the b and c pillar, and the windscreen header

re rust, proper sunroofs have a hole where it guides trapped water via the same route as inside the doorjams

i would like a sunroof in the Z, i quite like how it pops up over the roof. But ive never heard of Wesbasto. If Hollandia release a roof for the Z, ill get motivated to do it

you'll def lose 'structural integrity' with a T top

you could do anything if your wallet is deep enough

all ud need is someone to cut the roof rails, the sheetmetal and fabricate the panels. You could buy the latches and headliner off the convertible and use them

I've also been thinking about doing this. I was quoted $900 installed for the Webasto. This is definantly something on my list later down the road.

I'd say.. HELL NO!!!

If you want sports car with sunroof, get a Honda Accord

(Accord is as much as "Sports" as a sunroof in a 350Z)
