hood pins, locks etc. I just installed my seibon oem hood and don't really want to run ugly pins on my car... just wondering on the percentage of you guys with pins. if you're replying to the thread, post your brand of hood.

Just put Seibon VT hood on. I will test drive it before deciding if it needs pins. I don't like the look with the pins in, but IF it is necessary for safety I have found a really nice Italian billet aluminum set that would be awesome as an alternative to the standard types. Not cheap though.....

Been running them since the beginning. One in day in the mountains in the sticks during Z/G35 drive a cat with a G35 latch broke and it wasn't a good time for him.

Seibon VS .. with pins.
Ugly or not.. they are an extra layer of protection.
Consider this:
Your CF hood's latch is attached to the hood with resin. Its not bolted on.. or welded on. Resin is hard, and strong.. but its not going to hold with the same force that a metal bolt, or weld would. I firmly believe that over time and repeated stress, the resin sill not retain its original holding properties.
Hood pins are your friends

well i know stillen...and maybe kaminari... weigh the same or more than stock... so im not worried about it popping up... however if i had a nice light weight dry carbon hood or something I would look into pins.

the AeroCatch pins have a template in which you cut out to accomodate the latching system.. (templates included) i'm sure once you DO cut it, you can't go back to a conventional (cotter pin) hood pin setup
gringott--- post picts after the install.
