Default Lambo intstall pics/custom fenders/doorpanels...GT factory Weld on

I posted some lambo install pics for those of you interested in weld on kits. I modified my fenders and door panels and will be posting new pics. I have adjusted the doors so that they open almost completely 90 degrees. You can see right through the car with the doors up. The pics of my car posted on the web now are the BEFORE pics. The doors go even higher now. PM me if interested in installs or if you have any ?s. Id be glad to help.
www.crazkustoms.com/gallery Click fiberglass for the fender creation and click the lambo install gallery for the lambos.

Thumbs up

Nice job man, Questions for you:

How high were you able to get your doors up. I could only get mine up about 82-85 before I started having issues with hitting my hood when it is up. If we went that extra 1/2", we hit the hood when doing shows... So we backed it off a few degrees.

The Fender you made looks good man, I assume from the bulge and the pictures that you created that to allow the door to open out a foot or so like a LSD kit and then swing up? Whereas the standard kit can only open out 2 inches or so before hitting the fender/stop and then needs to be swung up.

Definitely a unique install and the inside door panels look sweet too.

Will post a pic of mine when we finish the panel install.

Nice clean work.

The door is not a complete 90 degrees but due to the fenders I can really open the door all the way and get in without raising it. It comes about 1" from the hood. Im going to get some pics and post them when Im done. The car is covered for the winter here in MA. Post your pics Id love to see your setup.

That is really nice man. That was the one thing that had me wavering was the inability to open the doors like a normal car. The Vertical Door and LSD kits allow you to open the door just enough to actually get in without having to bring the doors up. I have never seen a GT Factory door where you could do that.

Nice job planning that out and doing all the work.

I will post pics of mine as I get her buttoned up and cleaned up in the next few days.

Great looking forward to the pics. Note with the GT factory kit I also had to add a little piece of metal to the bracket because when I opened the door it automatically raised up about 1/2". No matter how I adjusted the bracket I couldnt get rid of the 1/2" gap. I bolted in a flat piece of metal onto the bracket itself. Now I can just shut the door like a normal door and it closes itself.
Unless you really tweak the kit you wont be ably to just shut the door. You have to guide it in and other people that get in your car never think of this and usually wreck your door panel slamming the door. Just one thing to remember with the GT factory kit. Also the hinges cost 1050.

Yea, the doors now need to be gently guided closed. And the opening needs to be controlled to, you can't just let them swing up on their own, you need to keep your hand on them to make sure they do not bounce at the top and hit anything.

I do not think I will be letting anyone open/close the door anymore. The women will think I am being such a gentleman....

P.S. Still having a HORRIBLE time getting the door panels in. Had to go to Chaser Aero and test fit all of the door panels. None of them fit right. So back to customizing/tweaking them.

The blue matches 100%. My camera makes the blue look a litte lighter. I could not manage installing the GT factory kit without modifying the door panel. In any case I think a little has to be cut. I can get reupolstered so you probably dont need a fiberglass panel.
