For those of you with aftermarket seats, is it true that if the seat airbag gets disabled then the whole airbag system is also disabled? also, how do u turn off the cel?

yes it is true... however NISMO makes a cut off plug for the air bag, just make sure you dont start the car with you it pluged in or you will throw the fault, im selling my new recaro speed speed seat, i used it for a show and thats it... its in perfect condition, if intrested let me know..

no.... how it works is, theres a airbag plug under the seat, and when unpluged it will throw the fault, nismo sells a plug that tricks the system to think the seat is pluged in and the air bag is there so no fault.

 

I have the plugs, thought my aftermarket seats aren't in yet. I turned the battery off, disconnected the airbag connectors, plugged in the relays, and then when finished put the battery back. Works like a charm, no CEL.

I got both for under $60 shipped from Z1 Automotive.

 

Are ALL the airbags disabled? I was under the impression that the front airbags and the curtains would be unafected by this mod.

yea, it's weird cuz if the plug tricks the ecu into thinking that the seat airbag is still working then would the rest of the system still be unaffected?

 

The plugs only fool the seat airbags. All other airbags will work correctly (front/roof).

 

Just purchase the resistors from Adam @ Z1 Auto or from Performance Nissan
