Default Momo 5AT SHift **** & Redlinegoods Ebrake Boot Installed

I finally got around to installing my Momo 5AT shift **** and my Redlinegoods leather ebrake boot today. I was going to install the shift boot too, but I couldnt get it to go in between the silver trim piece and the part of the tranny that shows the gears. I tried for an hour and finally said f*ck it. I also lowered the **** by about 1-1.5" by removing the blue thing in the shifter shaft. Anyway, here is the pick of the final product.

i like it got my boot from redlinegoods too

you have to use a dremel to get it to fit, but be careful, because if you aren't you will mess it up and it will come loose all the time. try cutting a few of the supports inside the ring, that may give it enough flexibility for it to fit.

EDIT: what floor plates are those?

I threw the boot away. It pissed me off so I said f*ck it! I have absolutely no patience. The floor plates are the Momo ones. I got them because I didnt want to dig a hole in my mat where my right foot rests while driving. So I got them and now my left heel is digging a hole in the mat where the dead pedal is. Go figure!

I'd really like that e-brake boot if it were somehow able to replace the factory rubber slit piece there and fit tight to the console area. Instead of squeezing through that same slit.

We tried that. But the way Nissan made the rubber surround, the way it mounts to the center console, makes it practically impossible to get a boot there without a lot of gluing, etc. We were trying to get a boot that would go over the surround (actually had Steve, the parts mgr from Courtesy, send us the surround to try).

It ended up to be a really tough nut to crack, almost impossible without custom fabbing some sort of a bracket.

That's a good tip. I was actually going to suggest taking a file and grinding down the inside of the boot a little. That's also an option. Test fit the boot and the bezel to figure out where exactly on the boot will the bezel be located, then in the same spots but from the inside file it out a little. Hope that helps!

[b]We're making a special version of the boot for the automatic![b] It will have a folded and sewn top with elastic in it. Should be perfect for installing over the lower part of the shift ****.

anyone elses AT e-brake not work efficiently? ... such as when you pull it up... it only slows down the car lightly instead of locking up the rear tires?

That's what i was afraid of... i'm picturing a whole lot of glue to hold it snug along the edges if that rubber piece was removed. Kind of wish it was like my old car, it had the thick felt lined material that was actually held on by a bracket which would've been perfect to use to hold a leather boot.

To orginal poster: looks great! i would leave the shifter boot off tho, i personally if i had an auto would like to be able to see the gate pattern. But thats MO tho.. Maybe a momo ebrake handle too! i love the ebrake handles momo sells.
