Default Question about 3M Clearbra pricing

Hey guys, I seen this website that someone else had posted on here for 3M ClearBra installers and I checked on their prices. They said this stuff is .008 thick which isn't really that thick, but check out the prices
http://www.xpel.com/products/configu...&submodel=4151

Are these any good? Or is there better? I wanna get my shopping done before I get my car cause thats one of the first things i'm getting when I get my Z.

I have a kit i bought actually and never got it installed because no installers would touch a kit that wasn't theirs. i'd call around first and talk to installers before you purchase a kit online, like i did. I still have it sitting in my closest 4 months later cuz it cost too much to install. I'd sell it if you were interested. I have the hood, fenders, mirrors, and full bumper kit. BTW, those prices seem a tad high. Expect to pay about 650 for the complete kit and installation. Let me know if you wanna buy my kit. I'd sell it for 250.

By far the best investment for you Z. The reason most installers will not touch the kits you bring in because there is a built in profit when they get the kits. Just make sure the person doing the install is 3M factory trained.

Are there horror stories of people trying to install themselves?

I have it done at a local place.. grand total was 575, ($615 w/ tax), did the whole front, including the fenders and the back of the mirrors.. unfortunately, i wasn't fast enough and got a chip before it was done (i'd only had the car a week), i think it was worth it, seeing as a new paint job would cost hella more

I have a Do Luck body kit and had my installer do a custom clear bra. He called and got the template so the cuts would be good. I could not have been happier with the results. I paid $600 total.

When it comes to kits, it would definitely be in your best interest to see what it looks like in person. If there are too many seams that bug you, then you could opt for custom application. However, you really would need to find the best to take advantage of custom work because it could look much worse than precuts.....not to mention those damaging your vehicle w/ a blade.
