YBLegal's right... it'd be best to get the ones with the leds around the sides of the bulb. I had a set similar to the ones in his link but i didn't like it though. The problem is that, during the day they blink on decent... not quite as bright but still noticeable... but at night, the difference between half lit and full-on braking is very small.

Thanks for your responses fellas.

but two bulbs for $40 + shipping seems kinda pricey.

does anyone know how much the oem bulb cost?

Id be shocked if it was more than 5$. but the OEM isnt LEDs(unless you talking 2006, and then none of this is relevant)

Im a big fan of LEDs, but I dont think they are a great option for brake lights. I dont think their bright enough; specially on a bright day.

Any updates?

I am interested in using these for the rear turn signals. After installing my 06 tail lights, I put my old red 9 LED bulbs (from superbright) into the turn signals and they are not bright enough. Especially because the rear turn signal bulbs point out on an angle and not much of the light gets refracted from the reflector.

waste of money.. just save up for your 06 tail lights.. thats what i am going to do..

NOT WORTH IT~!!!!!

I do have the 06 tail lights. I am interested in the bulbs for my turn signals. Sorry to hear they didn't fit or are not that bright. At least you have an excuse now to upgrade to the 06s.

maxpowers, you should look into the LED bulbs that blink amber. They must be a bit brighter than the red ones because i remember another member posted videos of his and they look like they blinked just as bright as oem bulbs. Just with the cooler instant-on look.

Thanks. Did some searching at an HID/LED forum and realized the concensus is unless you custom fabricate an LED array (as seen in other threads https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-and-interior/155163-sequential-rear-led-turn-signal-retro.html), LED bulbs don't work too well for turn signals. The problem is LED light is very directional. If you look at the bulb directly your are OK, but at any angle the bulb appears very dim.

With brake lights you are OK because people are directly behind you, but with turn signals you need to account for cars all around you.
