OK.. lets settle this.. Kelvin does affect how much light is available for use to your EYES... Light around the 4500-5000K area is easier for the eyes to see, therefor most HID's are around there. Second, there are only two types of bulbs, the D2S and D2R for the majority of HID systems so they're all pretty much the same ouput from the BULB. HOWEVER, the headlight assembly itself is different from car to car. IMO the Z's assembly isn't as effcient as many other cars. As a matter of fact, our LX470 SUV w/ EXCELLENT halogen projector headlights lights up the road almost as well as the HIDs on the Z. Our family's M3, GS400, 740is, and X5 all have MUCH brighter HID's due to their superior headlight assemblies. So yes, kaikai is correct in that the Z doesn't seem to put out as much light on the road w/ its HID's as compared to other vehicle's HID lights.

OEM HID is 4100K philips or osram D2s/D2r bulbs, not 5000K, not 6000K, not 7000K, all these 5000K and higher kits were made for ricer idiots and they are a waste of money. and as far as HID's being "brighter than so n so" .. all HID's are the same brightness, 3200lumens, its just the difference in optics.. please stop wasting your money on 5000, 6000, 7000, etc HID kits..
