Its a fad nowadays to have upswing doors.

Excerpt:The new fad has spawned companies such as Vertical Doors, started by some buddies who say they saw the trend emerging. The founders say that the 3-year-old business, located in an industrial park here east of Los Angeles, is on track for sales of $6 million this year. Several competitors are vying for auto enthusiasts, as well.

LOL it is. I install them all year long in the shop, and never seizes to amazes me how awwed the customer is after. "Wow, I can't believe it!" Don't get me wrong they are 'nice'. But its a thing of the past. I'm thinking of starting a fad where wings come out the side doors like an F-14 and you can fly away.
HAHA! I am in LA these days and was just reading that article in today's US News two hours ago! Damn...you guys miss nothing
I was surprised to read on Vertical Doors' lawsuit against 5 competitors. But to me, $6MM seems a little low for them. I would've guessed twice that.

my friend owns GT Factory here in san diego,ca they got the original 90 degree kit. i kik it at the shop every now and then and let me tell ya i seen him ship out 250-300 kits a bunch of times. biggest orders come from shops in east coast. mainly florida. his phone goes off all day long too
every week he also ships out at least 10-20 kits over seas. russians are biggest buyer. the craziest thing ive seen tough is a young guy from dubai ( or one of those UAE countries) paid GT big money to fly out the shop installer to UAE to install 4 kits on some supras. gullwing doors are next big thing fellas. GT factory debut there new kit at SEMA last november on s2k
