just got nismo ti gt shift knob
man... i didn't realize how small this thing was when i bought it. it is very nice and has a great feel, it also makes the throw feel a hare shorter. anyone else have this? any ideas on how to get the shift boot to stay up?

ive had alot of experience with this. do you still have that plastic part up under the boot. if so you can get a little rubber gasket like i did from any hardware store to take up the space between the bottom of the **** and the top of the boot. if you dont have that plastic piece attached to the boot anymore, you can just zip tie the boot up under the ****.
let me know if you have any questions, ive done mine a few different ways but how i currently have it with that rubber finisher is my favorite

whats the weight saving from using Ti?
imo the weight saving is probably too minimal to make a difference and it can probably be made up by wearing a thinner pair of socks

yeah thats true in most cases but they make weighted shifters to give you a quicker easier throw. by the way your shoes probably weigh more than a skift **** so i guess by that reasoning you should drive barefoot to save weight.
the nismo ti isnt weighted. actually i think it felt just a hair lighter than the OEM ****. my rubber GT doesnt weigh hardly anything

i've wanted this shift **** for so long. IMO it's the only decent looking ****. can't wait to place my order!! i'm too afraid of taking off the stock one though, from what i've read...it almost seems like it's easy to twist out of place.
if u got an 2003 then:
take the shift assembly off ...
vice grip the **** and secure the other side with a stationary clamp
twist really really hard
and repeat if its not coming off

There is no weight saving, if anything you would want a little weight at the top of the shifter.
