On the G....
4 bolts, and the power seat/heat must be disconected via a little plastic clip.... (If I remember correctly)
I take mine out twice a year to detail her completly.

maybe thats why...
because u have to disc the battery terminal for steering wheel removal to prevent airbag deployment...

i watched the show on car safety on the national geographics channel...
it shoots out at over 200mph and deployes in just a couple milliseconds!
an airbag is nothing to messs with...
getting shot by an airbag point blank might kill u

get ahold of the service manual or have someone look it up for you to double check - but YES at the very least disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes before touching anything to do with an airbag connector. Also make sure you have no static electricity buildup on you. In case of an accident involving battery cables getting smashed all airbags must have a backup charge of electricity to deploy them as a backup. Usually capacitors in the airbag computer or something like that. And the bags are serious business. I've seen propulsion canisters being made and its about a 3/4" to 1" diameter shell full of blue powder very much like gunpowder. It has to be compressed in a canister to explode with the charge. There still can be flash fires in the plant though from being careless Not the safest factory to be in! It's like having a loaded weapon pointed at your head if you are grasping the seat and pulling it out when it goes off.
Be careful, this is exactly why I did not take my seats out just to put my amplifiers in, but may consider taking out the carpet this spring to add some sound deadening. Make sure you do it right.
