Default Help! Colored Carbon Fiber Opinions

i've been searching for a colored cf hood for my Z for a while now. i've been looking for either an orange weave to match my CF B Pillars, or a silver weave that i can kandy coat the color of the car.

i just stumbled across this website: http://www.importprecision.com/carbo...er_hood_colors

first, should i even bother buying a CF hood from an off brand, due to the possibility of fitment issues, and second, do you think that orange weave would look good on the lemans sunset? there is a swatch in the link above, and an orange hood on an xb in the link below:

http://www.importprecision.com/carbo...d_color_cf.htm

let me know what you guys think, am i better of candy coating a silver hood? thanks!

It is better to just get a CF hood that you want and then have a body shop candy paint it to match

oh no..dont' do that. Just buy CF hood then let your bodyshop to paint for you. I would recommend Seibon.

the reason why i didnt want to get a regular CF hood and paint it was b/c i think it'd still look too dark even after the orange coat. i have the whole orange/silver thing going on with the car, so i was looking to kandy coat the silver weave so that it'd somewhat match the tone of the rest of the car.

just tell the bodyshop not to sand down the CF coat. Just spray the color and the clear coat.
