Default Seibon hoods

Are the vents on their hoods functional, or are they just for looks?

I really like both styles they have with the shark gill looking vents on the sides but if they are functional (let rain and water in) then I will have to pass.

I just got my Seibon TS CF hood. The worst quality hood ever. They said they fixed the fitment problem on the first batch last year, but I just bought one now and the fitment is horrible. The clear coat has tiny spider cracks around the vents. So becareful with Seibon. It's not just me, but a few other people that got the same hood got the same problems. But the vents are pretty good at releasing heat in the engine bay.

I'm starting to get worried by reading this just put my hood on last week seen a few imperfections on it looks like it bubbled a little, what scares the sh:t out of me is when I drive around 65-70mph looks like it wants to fly up but around 90 smooth

Hmm now I'm con fuggi'n fused. It seems like there are equal amounts of people who say Veilside is crap and that Seibon is crap.

So who's the crappiest? Always asumed Veilside made good stuff but maybe not? Some say Seibon is better and others say Veilside is better.

So what yer saying is I should save myself the stress and money and keep the stock hood and get a Nismo exhaust instead?

I have had 2 VT hoods due to an accident and both were flawless in fit and finish. Sucks others have not had the same luck.

I'm with you on this idea. You aren't going to save much weight from Seibon if any, I still say these hoods are just for looks

I'm not talking about the latching part. I was talking about the clear coat on the CF hood being cracked. They must've used poor material on the clear coat.
