I wouldn't worry about it. Looks good otherwise.
If they just "slabbed some bondo" on the holes and called it a day I would raise hell! Holes that are just covered up with bondo usually tend to rattle a lot and just the bondo just falls through!

The correct way to fix it would be to weld it shut with either a plate on the back and then fill the surface with some aluminum or welding a plate behind it and skim coating some bondo on top (the plate welded on the inside of the trunk protecting the bondo so it doesn't fall through).

I think you should still get it moved back though, it will look a lot better and less noticable that you have a replica piece.

Yep. I had a good fitment and experience with my last spoiler from them, that's why I picked them this time

Sounds great! Are you going to have to pay to get it moved?

These holes should be pretty small, not some large hole that you need welded plates behind it. If they used a hole saw or something huge like that i can see it being welded though. I never said bondo was the correct way, I was just saying that's probably what the body shop would do since it's going to be covered by the wing base anyways. If it does get bondo'd and it did fall through, no big deal, he probably has to pull his hatch weight anyways and can just put some silicone sealant to fix any hatch leaks.

That's true but what about when he wants to remove the spoiler? Then he has to deal with the holes all over again

I've personally seen shops bondo small holes like that and the bondo fallen through that is why I am highly discouraging the bondo technique.

weight reduction

also guys, if you look at the pictures from the website where he ordered from, the pic had the wing in the "wrong place" too.. if he moves it back a bit, then the tips of the spoiler wont match up with the end of the tail lights.. either way, its gona be off on one end.. weird

Correct, I pointed that out earlier too

Either way it will be off, but i think it will be far less noticable if he moves it back. At that point, it will take a very trained eye to notice that the ends do not quite match up.

OK. Went to body shop...

They said, they can move it back about ½ a inch for free (its 1 inch and ¾ away they said)
They said to move the thing all the way back to the lip would cost approx 500 with labor and filling holes and repainting if they don’t have to remove my rear windshield and 600+ if they have to remove my rear wind shield.
I think if they do the moving it back ½ a inch they wont cover the holes, I forgot if they said they would but iono what to do…. ****ing another 500? I spent that much getting the spoiler and having it installed :-/

What do you think I should do? Just keep it the way it is?
Have them move it back ½ inch for free? (would it even look better?)

I am not considering spending out another 500+….

I don't think it'll look bad at all if they move it back a bit. wings usually sags back a little bit in time, so it'll be perfect. no worries My shop left a little room and it's aligned perfectly now, after couple of years.

yeah.. considering the extra cost.. I don't think it'll be back.. it'll move about .25 with time.
