That will look really nice! I love how the vent is formed from the line that flows along the side of the car!

A propper black alu mesh will prevent stonechips and will look better then leaving the vent open IMO. A mesh would still allow lots of air to flow relativly freely, so pretty good compromise IMO.

How big is the weight saving on this mod?

Looking forward to see the final result!

/Roger

yes i might be putting a mesh at the opening, that was with the fenderliner removed- i'll probably end up cutting a hole in the plastic to put the mesh,

as for the splash up during the rain, oh well, i actually hope there will be splash up so i know it works!

I truly mean this when i say it: Good Luck contacting FiberImages.
That is why i'm trying to find a reputable company to make my fenders. hell, more the marrier so we can get it on the streets.

i intend on painting the fenders blue, and leaving the vent in CF, and possibly a CF strip @ the top mating with my CF hood-

Instructions for Fender removal:

1. Remove front bumper. 6 plastic clips on top, unclip undertray, two 10mm bolts on each side and the front bumper can come off-

2. Remove side skirts. 6+ or so plastic clips near the kick plate and two front, three rear need to be popped off, along with 2 clips in front of rear tire, one behind front tire, and about 6 or so metal 10mm screws underneath side skirt.

3. Remove Head light. short 10mm on the side, two long 10mm underneath headlight, one long 10mm ontop. Unclipe blue wireharness and take off headlight

4. from engine bay: two 12mm bolts directly above headlight, along with 4 10mm bodycolored bolts with two plastic clips holding in weather stripping and battery enclosure box, open door: single 10mm bolt on the side, directly on the bottom of the fender, should be 2 10mm bolts.

5. Optional: removal of fenderliner: 6 self tapping metal screws, and 6 plastic clips will remove the fenderliner, allowing ease of installation for the fender.

cool!! hope that helps.

Do you think the inside half of your front tires might run hotter than the outside half? If so, could that cause problems?

The side vent there looks cool. It doesnt look to hard to take the stock fender and mod it. to do the same.
