Default painted my calipers

Since I have only a certain amount of $$ for mods, I decided to paint my brake calipers red on my Crome Silver performance Z. The kit was free, because I borrowed it from my fathers garage. Took some pics. Overall, I am very happy with the results. I think that these kits sell for between $20-$40.

You can get the same kit for $38 from the tire rack. It took me about 3 to 4 hours to do all four wheels. I could have done it faster, but I did not have any jack stands, so I had to do one wheel at a time.

Did you have to remove and disassemble the calipers or just remove the wheels?

That actually looks better then I thought it would. Is this a spray paint or do you use a brush?

Its brush on, but buy a small paint brush and you can do a little better around the tight spots without even masking it off.

Default Painted Calipers

Alex,
Your car looks awesome. How is the paint holding up? That is exactly what I want to do to my car this weekend. Let me know how it looks with some driving miles on the car and how it is holding up. Thanks for the photos and info.

Paint is holding up just fine, even under harsh braking conditions. This paint is made especially for brake calipers. My Father started using these kits a couple of years ago, and he never had any problems on his cars. After a few days of driving, the brake dust covers some of the color, but once you wash the dust off, its looks new again.

That bolt is there to stop you from accidentally putting the rear wheels on the front of the car.
