Default KurumaZ NISMO Style Front Bumper Review

I picked up a KurumaZ front bumper a couple of months ago and finally got it installed recently. Thought I'd post some pics and give my thoughts.

According to the body shop, the fit was definitely above average. There might be some slight variance at the fenders, but nothing major.

The did have to fix some roughness around the reflector cutouts, and there was some additional roughness at the hood line. At the hood line, I'm not sure if that is from the mold or something the ship might have left rough. They're going to respray for me, though, so it will be fixed. All of that really isn't a negative, as it was in much better condition than most after market parts they see, and definetly stuff that general prep work will take care of easily.

I had the body shop drill out the tow hook hole and paint the area in the grill black so it would blend better. In the tow hook hole, we put a plug. Worked out very well. You can see it especially in the 2nd pic.

Overall, a very good after market product I think.

I was quite happy with mine and will probably be ordering another shortly to replace it.

I was very happy with the quality and fit on mine as well. The paint shop did clean up a couple of rough spots as well. They said the same about this bumper, quality was much above average. I was able to install myself, that's how good the fitment was.

Looks good on your car, nice pics. I too painted that area in front of tow hook hole. I had them paint it a flat black, came out real nice. I need to drill out a hole for the hook though, that's next.

Enjoy!!

Anyone notice space between the headlights and the bumper? Was it just a bad install that I got or is it common?

Where, below the headlights, or in the inboard sides of them?

There is NO space below them. In fact, if anything, it's too tight there.

On the driver side, outboard of the light the fender overlaps slightly. When they respray, I'm going to have them adjust this.

I never get tired of looking at the nismo type bumper.

If you have a big gap underneath your headlights, the installer may of not placed these tabs that stick out from the back of the bumper into the support bracket.

You might be able to check if you take the bottom of the bumper area off.

I'll repeat, there is NO gap under the headlights. It is actually too tight there if anything, and touches slightly.

Don't know why the pictures make people think that.

It isnt your picture or the pictures, I actually own the front bumper and spoke to a few at the BBQ in NY couple months back. Many if not all of them had this gap between the headlights and bumper. Maybe it is the bodyshop that did it but it seems all to strange for more than a handful to have this problem.

Mine was in the first batch off of a new mold, so maybe it's fixed?

They supposedly cleaned up the reflector fit issue some, although the bodyshop said this was one of the rough places in the mold (not the fit of the lights, the area around it).

Though I rarely drag it, it's nice to know I can occasionally rub coming out of a parking lot and not crack anything.

Are you making comments about my steep driveway?

I occasionally drag a corner if I hit the angle wrong. I've not done an oil change yet to get up under it to see if I've scratched it much.

My driveway has one of those curb step ups. I think I'm going to get somebody to fill it in with a concrete ramp soon.

Funny thing is my Grand Prix you might see sitting on the street will drag more often than the Z because if it's long overhangs.

No I'm commenting about my own negligent driving habits. I really want a carbon lip but can't justify the end result. Guess I'll stick with my Karuma.

There is a link in my original post to KarumaZ.

I had them doing some other work, too, so I'm not sure the exact cost, but probably around $250. Maybe less.
