1. stock hood is aluminum, CF weight savings is in the neigborhood of 1-2lbs, not worth 5-600$ for the item.

2. I love the topsecret lip, however I have scraped my lip on the ground in the past, and Im fearful of reducing and extending my lip, Id hate to break it.

3. aluminum and carbon fiber would be nice, but I find most of these to be rather huge, and question their purpose, carbon fiber doesnt do much if its not replacing some heavier material. the Z in stock form can not reach speeds that would create any usable downforce on a track.

4. yeah maybe... I like the stock mirrors, and again, I question how much weight can be saved.

5. only if it actually replaced the trim, all Ive seen is stick on, one more I return to, whats the point if its not replacing something heavier. yeah I like the carbon fiber pattern alright, but I dont have money to burn.

6. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I think that sums that up. dont expect to see this ever.

7. already have a carbon fiber drive shaft, and it seems to be working just fine.

anyway, I think carbon fiber is a great material, very strong and light. but Im not into the civic ricer use where many just paint their hood black to simulate carbon fiber, I wouldnt leave whole panels of carbon fiber sans paint. maybe a lip, but if I did get a hood, or a hatch, it would have to be painted.

ares-

Do you know if anyone has actually weighed our hood? The S2000 hood is 17lbs. I would imagine ours is at least that, probably more like 20lbs. The CF hood for the S2K is 7lbs. Now I am not saying that is a large difference. But it is more than the 1-2 that people have been speculating for some time. I don't have an hard data, but I would think there is a little more savings that people have suggested. That said, I do think most people do it for looks.
