Cool mmm..Color pole..?????

Hi Chaps,
You just don't know how lucky you are getting your hands on the most desirable car in recent years..

The burning question is what color seems to be the most popular.
I'm from England and alas we won't recieve the car on our shores untill August and thats only if supply drops off from Japan and you guys..!! so all being well I could be in reciept of by Xmas, but what color..?? I've not seen one in the flesh yet but the orange looks very striking in the press.

I would also be very interested in the things to look out for, faults etc, I ran a TT and it had lots of manufaturing faults, but thanks to forums etc I was ready for them.

Thanks in advance,

Have fun.

all the colors are great, not one that I wouldnt be willing to drive. I went with a dark color just cause, they are amazing when clean. I think black and brickyard fit the "dark" profile. gotta be willing to do weekly washes. I just finished mine today, luckily the water didnt freeze on the driveway like last time.

blue is a nice bright vibrant blue. I prefer a darker blue, like the electron blue of the civic SI, or the blue on the lexus SC430; if youve seen either. but nice anyway.

red is quite eye catching. I saw one on the road, it certainly stuck out from all the white and beige sedans that are on the road around here, it was like that G35 commercial where its all black and white except for the red G35. hmmm I bet you guys dont have that commercial, but you can use your imagination I guess.

white is... white... gets dirty quickly, when you clean it its very very clean looking.

silvers, those are the big sellers over here, which oddly enough is why I wouldnt ever drive a silver Z, there are 30000Zs or so being made, I dont need to have the same color as 20000 of them. Ive had silver, its a safe color, not edgy IMO. and you can go months without a washing and altho itll be a different color when your done, you wouldnt have said it was "dirty" before.

and last is lemans, a bit flatter than I expected, more closely related to copper than orange as I think most thought. but none the less, I nice color that certainly gets noticed.

Hey thanks for the color break down...you're right we don't have those commercial or cars over here but I know what you mean about the bland white and the 'ever' clean silver. I'm running a silver Porsche Boxster at the moment, people seem to have mixed emotions of, dare I say it 'Nissans' as we don't really get the the sport versions..ie Skylines etc. so, does nissen have a fine reputation in the states..?

we dont get skylines either. untill recently nissan was a bit of a second rate car company(waits for flames). they were certianly not first on a persons mind when they went buying. maybe I was just sheltered from that.

but recently with the newer styles, and basicly since renault came into the picture, theyve done superb, and some model of nissan is on most anyones list of wants. but still the Z is their first sports car that we've had since the 300ZX almost 7 years ago. they seem to know where to cut corners that people wont mind, but everywhere else they are top quality, you cant find a better engine that the VQ, but some might complain about the interior. a trade Im more than willing to make, and I guess nissan thinks many will agree.

Silver seems to show the car's curves the best, silverstone is kind of dull. Red is kind of cheap looking and so is the blue except when they are in direct sunlight (then they look great). White is a nice color, and black is gorgeous when clean. I would recommend black or silver, you can't go wrong

In my humble opinion.....NOTHING beats a Brickyard!

The sleeper color of the Z!

If I would have seen the Daytona Blue before I preordered, I would have ordered that color instead. IMO it is the best color for the Z. Red and white are probably my least favorite colors.

Thanks for your opinions guys, I'm getting a better picture of the car I can't wait to get my hands on. Has anyone got anymore pics of the 'Brickyard' color, it seems to be the least common color in all the press shots and I've yet to get a good look at one.

One other question...
How many miles do you get to a gallon, once you are run in and the feel good heavy right foot is at play. I know petrol prices aren't a real concern to you guys but it takes the edge off of owning large cubed car in the UK.

On color, we "Bricks" definately think Brickyard is the way to go.
If you enter "Brickyard" in search you will find several pictures on here. Bonz's is an excellent example. Cazzz Z also has one that always catches my attention when he posts a pic.

On milage, I get 20+/- with a moderately heavy foot.

Thanks for the links.. I can see why there is a 'Brickyard' following, love the metal flake. looks great with the sun shinning, I wonder what it looks like in the rain because thats what it does here most of the time in the UK...oh well, it still looks the dogs.

I've got a short list of 3 colours thanks to some great pics being posted..

Cheerz once again.

as I said, I love brickyard, I would have gotten it just cause it has an added flare, but black was on the lot ready to take home, and blacks cool too.

brickyard really has almost a illuminescant quality to it, in direct light(such as the picture you see up there) it is very purple, but when I first saw it in person I had to get close before I realized it wasnt black. differnt angles get a different color.

and I got 20.5mpg, this includes about 800miles a month, about 400 of which are on a highway, but the highway has some lights on it, so its not a total cruise. Ive just sorta reset it as Im already moving, and I end up with about 25mpg on the highway. on for those other 400miles, I assure you I am not babying the car.

Should I make the case for silverstone? IT IS NOT A DULL COLOR! It has so much metal flake in it. I know I am partial. I often get "Thats the best color the Z comes in" from people everywhere. I know its supposed to be the #1 seller in the US but I have only seen one other here in Tennessee and that was yesterday, when I actually saw 3 different Z's in one day! The most popular color here seems to be Daytona Blue. I have seen 2 Lemans (my second favorite color), 3 blacks, 1 brickyard, 6 blues, 3 chrome silvers, 2 whites, 1 (other) silverstone and 1 red on the road since I got mine in September.

If I were to get a second Z, I would get the Lemans. That color is HOT and rare!

Okay, I'll go ahead and try to make a case for CS. I like CS because it is a timeless sports car color. It is easy to keep clean, and to me brings out the lines of the car.

But remember, if I had to do it again I would probably get Daytona Blue.
