autotechnic cf mirrors loose pivot point?
NP just let me know if you don't understand some part of it. I think the best results are to play with it a bit, moving the inner rod and then tighting the outside nut that holds the whole assembly. Just don't overtighten or strip something.
sweet it worked fine! no need to take out the whole thing like you did..
all I had to do was separate the mirror from the base by removing the nut... then using the hex key I turned the screw on bottom very slightly clockwise(without needing to loosen the brass insert or using snap ring pliers).. DONE!
very simple.. everyone should check the tightness before putting these mirrors on.. so simple to do..it may save a lot of aggravation later..

My mirrors have held up fine. i had taken mine apart when i got the bases painted though. i am always guilty of overtorqueing things, but in this case i guess i got it tight enough

and after tightening mine about 6 months ago, it has gotten loose again grrrrr...

i had the loose mirror problem (pass. side) after getting my Z back from a paint shop (kit repaint). i finally took it apart and realized that the fix was as easy a tightening a set screw. I don't mean the 10 mil that is accessible once the mirror is mounted. i am talking about an internal set screw. the mirror has to come off to make this adjustment. here is a pic..everything is all good!!
