I hate to say it, but this was inevitable. The car starts at 26K and within 3-4 years of production, early example will fall into the price range of being accessible by ricers. But I don't expect to see a lot of them. I barely see any riced out Z32's, maybe one of out 10 I run across. It's usualy Accords, Civics and Eclipses that have it the worst.

the rice movement has actually slowed down quite a bit IMO and if you go to the import shows nowadays its all about drifting 240sx's and rally style cars like wrx's and sti's////however our car is getting more and more popular. two years ago you would never see our car in a drfit competition now they are frequent participants. just my 2cents

is it really going to be that bad... didn't the second movie totally flop? I am willing to bet that almost no one goes to see the third movie.

I just don't think there are as many ricers around as there were when the first movie came out (Most of them grew up and bought Z's/G's and sit on this forum... just admit it)

Fast and the Furious hurt the import "flavor" for us real guys and made BOV's, huge wings, underbody light kits, gay body kits and stupid graphics the stuff of dreams for this newer generation of a$$holes coming up. They throw a BOV on their STI's/Evo's/SRT-4's and drive around letting people hear it 20X as they cruise next to you 1 hand on the wheel 1 hand on their Nawz button ready to redline 5th gear in a 25mph zone.

Call me crazy but, I never could figure out the craze with drifting. I seriously don't get what's so great about getting your car sideways in a controlled manner. To me it is beyond pointless...that's me though.

As for the used Z market...yeah, I expect to see a few more on the roads that will fall into the rice category. While they will be cheaper they will never be in the price range of a 94 Civic. Hopefully that will keep the hard core ricers from tarnishing our vehicles.

I visit quite a few internet forums and on a lot of them most people are saying they aren't going to see FF3 and consider it quite lame. I'm sure the riced out Z's in the movie will appeal to some and they'll buy a Z and rice it out, but hopefully this wont happen on a large scale. Just a few idiots here and there. There's not that many people in that crowd that can afford to take a $26k+ car and dump another $5-10k worth of mods into it.

The movie will probably do well because its "drifting". Much like 2F2F, I will wait until its on DVD and get it on Netflix when I need a good laugh.
