Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone here has ever, or knows whether the roof on our Z is able to be removed and what exactly is entailed in taking it off. Ive never really looked at it before.. Thanx

B, I think there was a thread on a shop doing a targa top for the Z but nothing come out of it.

 

Yeah and that targa top was going to be expensive too.....around $4,000 I think? I do think it would be sweet though.

 

ahh icic. yea. well i mean i wasnt looking to take the top off to do any type of conversion. i just wanted to know if i could take it off cuz i was going to paint it a new color but now i found out itd just be easier to take the front glass out (the windshield) and then remove the hatch and mask off.

So you wanted to cut off the roof and risk structural integrity just to paint it a different color? Wow you are crazier than us targa fans lol. Any paint shop with half a brain should be able to do that easy

 

No dude u misunderstand. I wasnt sure whether or not the roof was welded to the frame. being that u might be able to remove thhe roof WITHOUT cutting. i would never cut out the roof to paint. that wouldnt make mmuch sense
