Yes. Your DVD player is wired to your e-brake. You can either take it out and wire it so that it doesn't read the e-brake sensor, OR you can get a toggle switch. The toggle switch would be a thing where you would flip it, engage the ebrake, flip it, disengage the ebrake, the flip it again. I'm not sure EXACTLY how it works but ask your local audio installer. =)

I have the AVIC-N2 which is wired to the internal gyroscope, not the ebrake like in the N1 and most other DVD player models. Anyone figure this one out yet?

Coincedence, I have the AVIC-Z1. ^That's what the guy at Best Buy told me to do *shrugs* I do know for a fact that rewiring it will do the trick. If it's not wired to pay attention to your ebrak position, it won't. ;-)

The wire that goes straight to the eBrake... route that directly to a chasis ground point.... any bare metal that is connected to the chasis of the car. Again, just ground that wire that goes to the eBrake.

yeah...all its lookin for is somewhere to ground the elictricity, when the e-brake is down there is current running through it but when its up there isnt any. just boly, solder, or scew the wire to a piece of the chassis.
