Default Body Kit Installation Cost - Is this A Good Price

Hi guys,

I'm getting a Nismo body kit and rear Wing placed on my 2005 Super Black Z. The body kit consists of a front chin, two side skirts, and two rear skirts. The body kit needs to be painted.

The rear Wing is already painted and just needs to be installed.

I was quoted $830 to paint the body kit, install it, and install the rear Wing.

Is this a good price?

Thanks

Way too expensive. If your car already had oem spoiler. The holes on the trunk will show with USDM Nismo spoiler unless you get JDM Nismo spoiler
I would say 500 dollars for every thing.

I don't have a spoiler on at the moment, so there are no holes on the trunk.

I'm located in West La, so if $830 is way too expensive, then is there a shop near West LA that you recommend?

I was quoted $830 by a placed called Gordon's in Redondo. They work a lot with expensive cars, so their workmanship is probably really good. But I don't want to be charged too much of a premium for good work.

$830 does't sound like bad price to me. For a lip kit, it might be a bit expensive but you gotta pay up for good work unless you know someone that does good work for cheap price.

Sounds reasonable as long the shop is established and does perfect work.

I've seen as much as $1400 for a Nismo kit paint/prep/install.

My JP Aero/Vizage type A kit and wing is gonna cost me right at $3000................................but i am also getting a two tone paint job with diamond black at the top to match my GT-7's and keep the PPW from the door handles down.

Your price of $800 is a reasonable price if the shop spays the kit off the car. Good luck!

xirtam: Siggy's Auto Body in Gardena,CA. He should be able to do it for around half the price you were quoted. Show him the parts and he'll give you a quote right then and there. He uses PPG paint and all that...I have no agenda, just want to help people like myself who have no idea where to go and want to save money and get it done right. Having said that, Siggy doesn't do show car quality work unless you pay him for it obviously. But if you want to save 400-500 bux and get a B+ type quality job, then he is your guy.

850 sounds about right.

Im paying 1200 to get my Veilside lip, front bumper, lower part of hood, side skirts and rear valance painted and mounted. Considering your wing is painted already its about right for a Grade A job.

850 sounds fair for a quality job on the lip kit. I paid maybe 700 to have my veilside ver 3 painted the first time, and it came out ****ty since the lemans didn't match the paint. I ended up going to a quality shop and paying over 2000 to have it painted and mounted, but you get what you pay for and the body work and color is literally perfect now.

this is the hardest question to answer since it entirely depends on the QUALITY of the job. yeah 830 sounds a tad high for what you need done done. but then again the body shop i go to locally has done my last three cars so get a bit of a hook up.

Xirtam,
I'm looking for a Nismo kit myself and I was wondering where you got yours. Would you mind sharing that info and also how much you paid? Thanks.

IF fitment is good and no FG work needed, then its a good price for good quality work.
