Default Seibon CF seats

Does anyone have these or heard anything bad about them. Highly considering them for my ride. Would I be able to use them at the track?

I haven't heard anything about them but whatever you do don't use them at a track!! People get killed that way.

(sorry for the sarcasm but I can't imagine why you couldn't use them at the track)
Nice looking seats.

Nice looking seats.

imho, you should only use bucket seats that have FIA certification.

Thats why I asked about the track use. I know they are "racing seats" but that doesnt mean they are certified.

I'd contact Seibon directly to see if the seats have past the FIA Certs. If they have, you should be good to go

I called them up and they said that they do not have any certification. Do you think it would be worth it to get them anyways. I dont remember anyone checking for cerification in my Corbeau's when I had them in my Mustang. Is that a part tech inspection when you do track days or autocross?

even if it's not for a series or points competition, wouldnt you feel a little more comfortable knowing that the company at least spent the time and effort for crash certification and impact resistance?

i highly doubt seibon would spend the $ for that type of testing.

that being said, whats wrong with other choices such as Sparco or Recaro seats? they're just as nice, just not bling bling kevlar or carbon weave except for the super high end-
true they are more expensive, but when it comes down to safety equipment, really you shouldn't skimp. just buy 1 seat instead of 2.

Cheap seats or even expensive seats that don't meet certification can kill you. Some of the knockoff seats from Taiwan deform or break at as little as 2-3 g's. In a low speed collision, you can easily generate more than 2-3 g's. Certified seats were designed to withstand about 20 g's. I hate to not have my information here to back these stats up, but I considered buying knockoffs until I read this information.

I agree with you guys 100%. I just liked the look of the CF. I'm considering a set of Sparcos also. The prices are actually about the same. Are all Sparco seats certified?

most sparco racing buckets are FIA cert.. , however their some of their tube framed reclining ones are not FIA but they are TUV cert.. which is european crash test standards like the Monza, Milano, and Torino.

i think most of Bride's bucket seats are FIA, and not sure about their reclining ones..
