UPDATE:

After all the research I have decided to go to aftermarket side view mirrors. One of my buddies in my club found M5 power folding mirrors w/ LED turn signals ( they also have them w/o the turn signals).

Check the link below:
http://www.xtralights.com/index.asp?...OD&ProdID=1233

Price is reasonable at $240 for the set. I will also be in contact with KP Technologies to get an electronic module to control the reverse tilt down feature.

These mirrors are tight!

But not folding. They have the same issue with the glass but I think the translated version says something about being able to switch to the us version. I be contacting someone about them.

The last link the price is $900 with out shipping. I can get OEM or Aftermarket parts out to anybody. I own my own shop here in japan and can get some good deals.

As far as the glass in the mirrors I would say you can pull the mirror out of yours and swap it into the japanese unit. It should pop off its motor. I have a nive little DIY for puting Signals in the mirrors if someone is interested in that to.

Everything is expensive in japan. I can get up to 30% off on allot of different parts. Group buys and I can do better. I usually use BAX globle for shipping and can get shipping quotes to. I dont have a website but you can email me at

powersuppply@gmail.com for any parts or Q's.

The price of the Z is just starting to come down and there are a few in the junk yards. I just got a used trany for a z and the complete package was 3500.

MAn if we were talking GTRS there a dime a dosen so I hope we get there sometime with the Z

UPDATE:

I have been lookling far & wide to find the parts that would add the electric folding feature to my Z's side view mirrors. I have finally found the last part of the puzzle!!

I wanted my side view mirrors to have the ability to tilt down when in reverse and also fold. I saw JDM Z parts that would do so but they were expensive and difficult to get. After extensive searching I have been able to assemble a system that will do just this. In order to achieve this effect I have put togetther the following:

(1) One set of heated folding side view mirrors w indicator lights
from this link: http://www.xtralights.com/index.asp?...OD&ProdID=1233
Cost: $250

(2) Electronic module that allow the mirrors to tilt down when reverse is engaged from www.kptechnologies.com
Cost $50

I await delivery of the electronics and will give install details.

Did you ever get the mirrors installed? Did you ever get the fold in feature to work?

We are currently running a group buy on the mirror tilt module for those interested in adding that feature to your stock mirrors: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=313781
