Default Flush mounting driving lights into bumper....look good?

Ever since I found a picture of this japanese Z, I've been trying to locate driving lights that integrate into the bumper.

Hella and Piaa don't have any lights that flushmount or come with a bezel...everything on the market comes with that bracket. IMHO, I think bracketing lights into our bumper is tacky and I'm looking for an OEM look.

I would use these port tubes (think of a huge tweeter mount) and attach the lights inside this port tube. Everything would be sealed.

What do you guys think?

i think that car looks like sex.

oh yeah, the foglights, right.
If you find a foglight that fits perfectly in there go for it, but wouldn't it get hot around the foglight and melt the rubber/plastic?

oy! does that Z in the first pic have those fake M3 vents on the side? I like the light housing concept tho.

Jun....great thinking, that honestly didn't cross my mind.

I'm sure the lights were custom molds or something. I found some Hella lights on Tirerack that I might use...I'll keep everyone updated. Hopefully this will be a worthwhile mod. ($150)

in the attached picture of the Z, it simply looks like they cut a round hole with a template and then mounted the fogs behind the bumper, probably drilling and attaching to the bumper rebar behind. I don't think they used a bevel or anything. The only photos of that car I've seen are far view shots like that, so it's hard to see the flaws or gappage between the fogs and bumper; if there is any at all. Don't do the sub porthole bevel, if you REALLY wanna do it, then cut it like the orig. Z that did it.

I believe that it is the Strosek kit. Very pricey!

Good point about the far away pics, after looking at a few pics you may be right. The whole point of the port bezel is to add a "finished" look to my dremel cut out.

I believe it was sicussed elsewhere that it is an Ings kit with custom rear quarter panel and door work (NSX vents in the rear quarters). The fogs are set in the OEM bemper.

Instead of the port tubes, an idea hit me....home interior recessed lighting....made of metal. I have them in my house and randomly thought of using them. Went to Home Depot and found them for $10 each for a 4 inch kit with reflective metal inside. I may have them painted PPW but the white doesn't look that bad. Just ordered Hella lights, hopefully I'll have this project comeplete soon.

I would imagine fiberglass bevels would be best as they won't melt like plastic or transmit heat like metal.

make sure the lights are pointing in the right direction

How are you planning on attaching the foglights to the back of the bumper? How are you going to hold it in place?
