i lost one of the hinges to the storage compartment door behind passenger seat. service manual calls it a rear floor box lid pin. called nissan. they say it is not sold separately, and i have to buy the whole effing box for $170! fzuk that. any ideas?

come on guys, help me think outside the (rear floor) box to think of/find something i can use that will be effective as a door hinge for the big storage box behind the passenger seat.

 

Hey the previous owner lost mine as well so I'm looking for one. I'd go to home depot and see if they have a notch to hold a lid. I am thinking ones where you press it into the lid hole, slid it in to the location of the compartment, then the spring in it points out. I have seen it before so one of these days I'll check out this part.

An alternative would be to look either online or in the junkyard for the part.
