Default Can I make a Colgan bra work with my v1 lip?

Likely moving cross-country in a few months and if I drive the Z, I want to protect the front end as much as possible. I can plaster half the car with racer's tape, but was wondering if I might be able to make a Colgan (or equivalent) bra fit with my v1 lip, then just tape the lip?

So does that mean the bra still fits with the lip on (and just tape the lip)?

Hmm, I figured that. I guess it wouldn't stay in place well enough with just the fender clips and hood holding it, huh?

WELL, then can anyone tell me the best source/brand for good race/protective tape (the wider, the better; I'll want to cover alot. Oh, and anything other than ugly blue would be nice...) that I can keep on a couple days of driving in who knows what kind of conditions that won't leave a bunch of adhesive residue on my car?

If you drove with it like that, the wind would get under the bra cover and lift up on it, causing it to either fly off or make the plastic clips repeatedly tap on your bumper causing paint damage.
