Default Carbon Fiber Hood

I purchased a carbon fiber hood back in June. The hood got lost in transit so another one was sent. I finally recieved my hood on Tuesday. The quality of the Seibon hood that I purchased from Jim is beyond fantastic. I put hood on and fitment is PERFECT, no problems at all. The finish on hood is like a mirror and weave is the best I have seen. The body shop doing work on my car was blown away. I am painting hood and leaving vents alone. The car is silverstone and I don't care for the contrast of color but the sheer beauty of the hood makes me second guess my decision to paint it. I have been to many car shows and seen other cf hoods and they don't even look close. I wish my Piece of sht veilside lip fit half as good.

Robert, post up a picture of your car with or without the hood, it will give us a better idea. I say leave it carbon fiber, not only are you saving money, but I bet it looks just as good if not better then painted. Either way im glad your satisfied.

Nice. This is the reason I recommend Seibon hoods over Veilside any day of the week. My veilside hood sucks.

Car is at shop now. It looks so great close up but it takes away from rest of car. I wish my car was black. Any way I am going to paint it and leave vents c/f. 90% of the people I talk to and that have seen it say to leave it alone but I am an idiot and am going to paint it.

I like CF on contrasting colors better than on black. When I see CF on black it looks more dirty than cool.

Tuff choice. If it really looks that good, keep it for now and paint later down the road if you get tired of the C.F. look

Oh, dear Lord. Leave it full CF.

I didn't used to like CF at all, but it's REALLY starting to grow on me.

I will be a voice for the opposition -- paint it and leave the CF vents! CF hoods look unfinished and cheapen the car IMHO (unless you have other CF/black elements to tie it in).

Either way, it looks good. Glad to hear the fitment is great! Pot pics when it is on.

+1 on not painting it - i have Silvestone also and I think the CF looks great. Not that I actually have one on my car - but that has more to do with $ than looks...

no, they are UV gel coated. The ones with fadding issues were most likely purchased over a year ago when they didn't use UV clear coating.

Paint it but put a fade into the vents. Nitrouz is a member on teh boards and he did that to his CF hood and the fade looks nice.

No, I don't care for looks. I have driven car for a few months and have had no problems at all(knock on wood) I have even had car to 140mph and hood was sturdy.
