Default Carbon Fiber Cobra Gas Cap Installed

Finally installed my Cobra Gas Cap (from Germany). This item, although it looks like it would match the door handles, is actually chrome See picture below.

I first ordered from spoliers4less.com, but it would take months for delivery, so another member here told me Henry Chan (I think in San Francisco) was selling his as he was getting rid of his Z. Henry hooked me up, (thanks Henry) and I got it. It looked like this:

No way I could install it as it looked above. So I thought first of having it powercoated to match the door handles, but I was not too successful in finding someone to do it, either in Lemans Sunset or door handle color. I thought of stripping it, as it is supposed to be made out of aluminum, but I worried that it wouldn't look right. I remembered this item on the Varis webpage, which is a one-off that they don't offer for sale:

So then I looked for someone to wrap mine in carbon fiber. First quote I got was from Apsis on the east coast that other members said did great work, they were out of my budget and lead time would be 4 to 8 weeks. Then another member here mentioned the good work done by Topshopheadliners.com in South Dakota. I emailed them, got a response from Justin B. right away, with a price I could afford, and willing to do it right away. So I sent it off. This is what I got back:

I was very happy, it arrived well packed, and some small screws and a bracket they had to remove were in the package also (they took care - my experience in the past with shops is that they tend to lose the little stuff).

I installed it today, and I am very, very pleased. Looks and fits to my satisfaction, and Justin did a great job on the weave, etc. Here are some pictures.

I am not affiliated with any of the shops I mentioned, and I have no financial interest, no special discount. But I did want to share my satisfaction with topshopheadliners.com, and Justin, they did a great job for a affordable price.

I also emailed Justin about doing a 350Z headliner in carbon fiber, as I saw on their website that they made headliners for other imports etc. I sent him a picture of our headliner out of the car. Justin stated that they would need about 10 to 15 customers to justify the cost of the mold to make it. I am not hosting a group buy or anything of the sort, but I am putting this out there if anyone is interested and would like to take this up.

Bolts up. You do need a 3.5mm allen key, and a 7mm and 8mm wrench, phillips screwdriver. Stock remote latch still works. No drilling required, can return to stock configuration within 30 minutes. Only real problem I see is I lost the metal hanger that you put the plastic gass cap retainer on when you fill up. And this also dosen't have the Premium Fuel Only sticker. But since I am the only person who ever puts gas in this car, I don't think that will be a problem.

I like that. Your right, except it is a beauty mark. Like Cindy Crawford.

what would be a possible price on the headliner? Would it be setup where we could get the sunvisors and light trim pieces done too?

I hate the tan headliner! Already got rid of the frost interior, the headliner is the only thing left to turn black.
