RX8 to 350Z Feedbacks
I got rid of my rx8 for a 350z. Performance wise the Z has the edge hands down. I love everything a bout the Z. I would like to hear feedbacks from people that went from an rx8 to Z. Thanks

i went from a RX8 to a Z...traded straight across an 05 RX8 for an 03 350z...best trade of my life...i would never go back to the rx8...the z just has more power, way more fun to drive...everything just seems better. I've since put an APS TT kit in the Z...and am loving every second of driving that car.

I owned an '91 RX-7 (Back when the RX WAS a Sports CAR!)....I didn't even consider the RX-8, as it is no longer a Sportscar....it's been neutered like a dog and become a Sports COUPE.
Madza needs to ditch the RX-8 and get their shyt together and build a hardcore rotary sportcar cuz (unless I'm mistaken) I don't think the RX-8 is selling that well......I hardly see them on the streets.

+1 IMHO, the Rotary Engine is interesting in what it does and how it works. BUT, it is really a flawed engine design that Madza engineers never really got tweaked properly.
No wonder NO OTHER automotive manufacturer wanted to touch this engine concept!

ive been waiting for this thread to start.
My buddy has an Rx8 and hes been offering me to raise him in the mountainside (curvey roads). He's so sure that hell beat me because of the rx8's handling. He says he has seen videos of rx8's beating the Z on the track. I told him that they were professionals and you and I are amateur drivers. I'm pretty good in handling my Z but,my car being at only 1Kmi, I won't take it to the mountainside. Ill wait for my JWT pop charger to get here and probably smoke his @$$.

Efx,
The RX-8 will run out of breath halfway up that damn mountain...I don't think he has enough torque to beat you.
Hell, If this forum allowed online gambling...I'd DEFINITELY throw a $500.00 bet on you!

The rotary engine design is solid. The fact that it uses oil as a lubrication within the combustion chamber shouldn't be a detractor. It only has 3 moving parts within the engine, compared to the 50+ the VQ has... needless to say it is't quite as reformed as a "normal V6" because most car companies didn't implement them in a production vehicle, so it doesn't have the advantage of countless testing and road miles.
The 8 on the other hand isn't a sports car, as mentioned above. The 7 was a beast, in fact the 95 twin turbo would put a good run to the Z. Think about that once, the car was built a minimum of 7 years prior to the Z and has comparable numbers in 0-60 time (5.3 sec), and better numbers on the slalom. I've owned both a 2nd and 3rd gen RX7 and a Z. I would gladly take a rotary motor in a newly designed Sports Car like the 7.

On PAPER..the rotary engine really is a marvelous thing...with fewer moving parts, no pistons, etc.
Too bad Madza couldn't take the concept one step further and come up with a SUPER LUBRICANT (Other than oil) that is also HIGHLY heat and friction resistant.
Hell, If some egghead invents such a lubricant and they twin-turbo the RX and give it a cool design like the 3rd Gen. RX-7, I'll place an advance order for one right now for an RX-9 !!
Oh yeah...it's gotta have TWO DOORS...forget that lame *** Saturn Coupe-like door thingy!

Biased against french-backed cars. His colleagues also love the car, so he mocks up this "other team" mentality for entertainment and journalism purposes.
Jeremy drives high-horsepower beasts all day long, so when he sits in a compact Japanese car all he expects is nimble handling. (something the RX-8 and S2000 has)
He still does stunts piloting a 350z roadster for the Top Gear/ 5th Gear live stage show, so I guess that's worth something.

dont listen to him tiff is my guru and he......is in love with the Z.......and he drives everything from F1 to pagani Zonda Fs so ..i think i will go with the guy that actually tests the cars on the track rather then the guy who is more comentary then anything.
