Question Hatch Release

Alright, I read on another forum that there is supposed to be a Hatch release in the glovebox behind the passenger seat. I looked in there now and see two plastic pieces that pop out but no release. Is there a way I can wire one in or does anyone out there have a hatch release in this location inside the car? Is there any other way of releasing the hatch from the interior??

BTW, I also found that there is a release under the strutbar, which I didnt know before. Interesting incase someone gets locked in the trunk

You could always push your trunk button on the key fob even it's still attached to your keys while the car is running? Other than that, the only other way i know of to unlock your truck from the inside is under the strut bar like you said.

Theres a pull tab back on the hatch that you can use to open the car from the interior. I didnt know of any switch in the glove box that could be used to activate the rear hatch.

Have a picture where one could find this pull tab ON the hatch like you say? Or are you talking about the already discussed pull tab under the strut bar IN the hatch?

There's no release in the glove box, only underneath the strut bar, near license plate and on remote key fob.

There is a release in the glovebox. I know this because when I took apart my interior, there was a cable connected to the top of the glove box that I had to disconnect before that piece would come out. It is located under the "false-floor". There is a cover that needs to be removed and then you can access the string to release the trunk. In my manual, this info is on page 3-12.

It is on page 3-9 in the 03 Owner's manual. And no, there is no release in the glove compartment.
