Default Apparently There Is A Wrong Way To Install HIDs

I just recived my "OEM" 8000k HIDs. It looks horrible on the road and instead of a strait line it bows upward... I don't feel like messing with them because it's such a pain to get to them. Should I go to the stealership or does anyone know the proper way to install them?

Didn't you have to drop the front bumper to replace the assembly?

You probably put them in wrong? Are they just bulbs, or the entire housing?

it's really not hard to adjust them though. Has two screw type things that push and pull the housing in the correct direction. I've never messed with it while it was in the car, but have taken them apart and painted several and they all turn out straight as an arrow.

Sorry, but what do you mean "OEM" 8000K HID?

There's an OEM HID that is 8000K?

There is no such thing. Either it is OEM, or burns at 8000K; can't be both.

Most 8000K and higher HID systems are actually dimmer than the stock halogen bulbs. If you want brighter headlights, you need to stick with the OEM 4300k systems.

Thanks, I typed "OEM" because these were direct replacements that didn't need a new ballast.

Ah, so you basically just bought a bulb.

I had 8000k HIDs on my Magnum, and they were far brighter on the road than the stock Z HIDs. I just wish these worked right the first time. I can't even get the front clips off the bumber to install them properly. I had to go through the wheel well, it's very tight in there!!!

If they are direct replcement there is no need for level adjustment. I've changed countless HID bulbs for people. There are notches in the top of the bulb so fitment is precise, but it can be installed wrong if your not aware of it. Needless to say you'll have to remove them and place them correctly.

Okay, let me get this right before I atempt this again. On the boulb we have lets say a skinny tube, and a larger tube. The skinny should be on top, correct??? Oh and are the top bumber clips impossible to get off or is it just my car. I've even try prying it off with a hammer...

Sounds to me like you installed them in high beams. If so I don't know how the hell you got them to fit. And yes the thin tube like bulb goes in the top.

Figured it out... The person said these were direct replacements. WRONG. The factory bulb a a semi-circle notch then a square notch. The ones I got had square first then semi-circle. I got the dremil out and fixed it. Now it fits, but I have to wait until night to see if it worked or not...

I don't see how 8K can possibly give you better lighting range than the oem 4300s...haha that's just not how lighting temp logic works
