Best way to wet sand a small touch up?
Spilled a spot of touch up on front bumper-wiped it off and it took off the paint under it almost down to the plastic bumper. I filled it in with touch up paint and would like to get it even with the rest of the paint. Its a spot about the size of pinky nail. Wondering whats the best thing to do? Should I tape off the spot and sand only the spot? I have an acrylic sanding kit that goes from 3600 up to 8000 grit. Should I start with the lower grit and go up to the higher one or just start with the higher ones?
Thanks

I never thought I would ever touch a car with sandpaper but it had unbelievable results. I used the 3600 grit on the spot and finished up with the 8000. Got me nervous at first cause the paint got white, but I then followed up with Meguiars Mirror Glaze#9 swirl remover 2.0, then malco flash wax. If it was not for the slight color difference of the touch up paint (my touch ups match really well everywhere except the front bumper, Im assuming cause its a different type of paint) you would never see it.
