I'm pretty sure this is a Canadian requirement, and there IS a wire there in Canadian cars to power the drivers light filament in the turn signal.

Got it figured out...

2006 owners who wanted to make thier turn signals work as drivers lights would merely have to jumper the blue wire (on the headlamp housing) to the green/white wire to make the second filament bulbs operational.

Conversely, everyone who have retrofit these lights to a pre-2006 car... If you want to elimate the yellow second filament being lit as a drivers light, you would merely have to cut the blue wire on the back side of the headlamp.

I'm thinking of keeping the wiring as is and using the dual fialment, but instead, running dual color LEDs:

This will allow the turn signal to glow white as a driving light, and flash yellow as a turn signal.
Exellent info! Thanks!

Ok, I looked at the rear of the lights(with them still on) and I see a blue wire on the sides of the connector. Is this the wire we need to cut?? And, is everyone sure the 06's dont light up?

Im about to do this and I dont want to screw it up.

Can we change the 3 Yellow LED side marker to White color?I think it would match the HID.

Default here are some pics.

If you want your turn indicators to to work normally (not on constantly), and you dont want to hack up the car's wiring harness, all you have to do is take out the bulb from the plug, and cut the middle 2 wires so that they dont make contact. There is one on one side, and one on the other. Remember, its the middle pins/wires.

Pics....

You'll need something I made for my dad's Z32 a few years ago. It is a quad Luxeon bulb with 3 being amber and 1 being white.

Here you go. Pics of my set up. I figured why not use the function since it is wired. Enjoy. I am pretty sure I am the only one running this set up.

They are LED's. I posted a link and a pic at the top off this page. It is called the switchback. $24.99 each plus you'll need to wire in an equalizer on each headlamp which are $8.99 each.

http://autolumination.com/switchback.html

If your headlights or driving lights are on they cycle amber/white when your turn signal is on. Looks great. If your headlights are off it just blinks amber like normal.

I replaced the bottom driving light with an LED also. Picture doesn't do it justice because it is directional. When you are standing infront of it. BRIGHT WHITE! I also bumped up to an 6600k HID bulb as well. A whole lot of white while driving.

I'm surprised you guys missed my post. The "equalizer" is just a large resistor to bump the resistance low enough the car thinks a bulb is there. LEDs consume very little power so resistance is pretty high so the car thinks a bulb is burned out.

djtonium said it right. Without the equalizer the LED bulb blinks fast as if it has the wrong bulb or is burnt out.

It is a wedge. It plugs right in. Simple.

Which switch back bulb did you use ilbkuup? is the bulb a 3157 or 7443 base? I went to the Sylvania website and it shows a 3457 bulb is used.

I Just switched to the 06' headlights and have an interesting problem. I cut the blue wire so the signals would not light up with the headlights, but now my signals don't work correctly. They flash once and that's it. I do have load resistors hooked up from my previous led signals front and rear. I now have leds in the rear only until I get the switchback bulbs for the front. Maybe I'm overloading the blinker relay from running load resistors and the regular front bulbs. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

If you overload the blinkers, the BCM will detect overcurrent (or a short) and cutoff power to the binker in question.

I ordered the 3157 wedge. Works perfectly.
