Default painting price

I just got my new veilside v1 front lip(urethane) and greddy side skirts(fiberglass). Today I called two body shops for price and they asks $1000 and 750 for painting. What would be good price for painting my kits?

call 4 local shops, visit each to see their work, and go with who you are comfortable with.

rip off.

expect to pay $150 for each piece on a lip kit (if it was all fiberglass that is). For a total of $450 (this is what i was quoted at my local paint shop that paints and repairs jaguars, mercedes, bmw's, etc.)

However, you have urethane front lip which takes more time to prep so they'll have to charge you more. Look for a deal around $500-$600 and you should be fine. $1000 better include wash + wax + detailing + dinner on them

It just all depends on the kit. If the glass is in good shape then yeah about 150.00 each part. If it needs to be primed and blocked then expect to pay double.

seems very high. I would ask what their rate is and what they anticipate spending in time to achieve this. Prep and paint should not take more than a 2-3 hours at most.

The shop I'm using is only charging me 1k for paint and install of front and rear bumpers, spoiler and repairing the left side quarterpanel. So you are definately getting ripped off

keep in mind though, if you called them, they very well may quote high - and a quote is just that; like anything else, it can be negotiated down.

The worst thing you can do is automatically go for the lowest quote - go for the shop that gives you the warm and fuzzy feeling, and who's results you liked the best. Also pays to ask what sort of paint they use as well, whether they air dry the paint or oven dry (has a big impact on how long you'll be out of comission) and things of that nature

What type of paint is the best and does whether they air or oven dry make a difference in the outcome
